HMS Announces New Gateway, Firmware Update, and MQTT Support
The releases focus on improving integration and communication: a gateway for NIBE heat pumps, a firmware update for the Atlast2 Plus, and the addition of MQTT to the 700 Series Air gateways.
HMS Networks has released several new products and upgrades. First, the new NIBE Gateway can integrate heat pumps in both multi-unit residential buildings and light commercial facilities. Second, the company has released a crucial firmware update for its Anybus Atlas2 Plus monitoring system. Finally, the Intesis 700 Series Air gateways now support MQTT communication, making cloud communication a reality.

The NIBE Gateway
The NIBE Gateway makes it possible to integrate heat pumps into building automation systems (BAS) in multi-unit residential buildings and light commercial facilities, such as strip malls and shopping centers. This gateway allows for bidirectional communication between up to 100 data points and five separate heat pumps, making it easy to coordinate heating and cooling efforts in complex HVAC situations.
Communication is not just limited to building HVAC, but can also be used for photovoltaic cells, pool temperature control, and numerous other applications.

Firmware Update for Atlas2 Plus
A new firmware update is available to improve the user experience on HMS Networks’ Anybus Atlas2 Plus monitoring system. Firmware version 2.3.0 fixes a few bugs from the previous version but, more importantly, introduces a new way to visualize data networks.
Topology Tree View enables users to visualize the interconnectedness of nodes and establish a data and device hierarchy that is both visual and functional. The ability to view data and nodes in this fashion can make sense of the chaos and the spiderweb of multiple devices and how their interconnections impact one another. Ultimately, the new tool aims to save time and effort on troubleshooting and give design engineers a way to organize complex systems.
This upgrade also includes the Atlas Update Tool. This software tool allows multiple Atlas devices to be updated simultaneously, saving users time and engineering effort compared to running around a plant with a laptop and a cable or an SD card.
Version 2.3.0 also features updated documentation, including both a new version of the Atlas manual and the Tool manual.

MQTT Capability Added to Intesis 700 Series Air Gateways
HMS Network’s popular Intesis 700 Series Air gateways now support MQTT communication. There is a rising demand for HVAC systems to subscribe and publish data to the cloud. This allows adjustments of HVAC variables and troubleshooting to occur over the internet, rather than physically locating each component of the HVAC hardware. To enable bidirectional communication with the cloud, the Intesis 700 Series Air gateways now support MQTT.
Connecting Industrial Equipment
HMS Networks has both expanded its catalog and updated existing firmware in response to growing HVAC demands. The NIBE gateways can be used in new buildings or to upgrade existing installations. The firmware upgrade is just that — a firmware upgrade for adding capability to an existing gateway. New Atlas2 Plus gateways will include it, but existing ones can be upgraded easily.
