Weintek has recently announced its new cMT3106XM human machine interface (HMI) to offer mobile flexibility to operators. This new 10.1-inch handheld HMI enables users to move freely on the factory floor while easily integrating hardware and software within industrial environments. The portable HMI enables real-time equipment monitoring and allows for the issuance of commands as the operator walks along production lines, thanks to its 20-meter cable length.

Portable HMI Boosts Productivity

Unlike traditional HMIs that are often installed at a fixed location, the new cMT3106XM handheld units offer a flexible working experience by allowing operators to move freely within a range of 6, 10, or 20 meters, depending on the accommodated cable lengths. This flexible mobility is beneficial in large facilities, multi-station production lines, and harsh industrial environments where having stationary or fixed HMIs can slow down workflows. The new portable HMIs feature a comfortable rear grip that is ergonomically designed to reduce operator fatigue, making them suitable for maintenance, troubleshooting, and cross-station adjustments requiring precise movements.

Confident Operation with 3-Layer Safety

The new cMT3106XM features a key switch for secure access control by restricting operations to authorized users. For safety, the HMI features an emergency stop switch for fast shutdown in case of a malfunction, and a three-position enabled switch that prevents unintended contact from causing accidental activations. With these multiple layers of protection, users can work confidently and safely while moving around production areas.

Regarding installation, the new HMI features two connection box options. The cMT-XMBS standard connection box is designed for external installation on walls or outside control cabinets, providing easy access to wiring and maintenance. On the other hand, the cMT-XMBC compact connection box is designed for inside cabinet installation, keeping wiring protected and organized. Both box options are compatible with Weintek's cMT-XM-ESP E-stop bypass plug for uninterrupted operations. Additionally, both options feature an IP66-rated enclosure that protects the wires from dust and moisture, ensuring long-term reliability.

Portable HMI Designed for Performance

The cMT3106XM series features a quad-core RISC processor, which offers efficient and robust data handling with its 1GB RAM and 4GB flash storage. The new portable HMI features a 10.1-inch display with a wide viewing angle and a 1024 x 600 resolution for clear visualization of data and control interfaces. The HMI is built to withstand harsh environmental conditions with an IP65-rated enclosure.

Driving the Future of Industrial Mobility

With the growth in automation complexity, industrial operators seek tools that offer greater flexibility without compromising safety. The new cMT3106XM addresses this need by defining how operators interact with equipment across the factory floor. This makes the new solution by Weintek ideal for industries seeking a balance of mobility, safety, and performance, bridging the gap between stationary HMIs and mobile requirements.
