looking for a Vibration Monitoring System
There are other Vibration Monitoring Systems on the market that perform equally with a lower price tag; but have their own associated software. I suspect that if other systems worked on Bently Nevada software, the company would somehow block it's use.

Capacitors in Old I&C drawings
"By current source do you mean it sources constant current?" Not exactly but if you have a constant voltage source and fixed frequency the capacitor will have a fixed impedance which is easily calculated. You will notice from circuit supplied that most of the voltage drop is across the...

Capacitors in Old I&C drawings
Sorry guys but Screenshot_1 is very misleading. What is the current consumption in both circuits ? What you have is a coil having current removed. Even a DC circuit will spike in a similar manner, so is the transient not directly proportional to current ? "According to my understanding...

I posted this before. I need help with the sequence. The sequence that I've gotten is quite weird, or I should say is messy.
From your other posting, whilst pneumatic circuits can function sequentially in isolation, you will struggle to achieve what is in the video without some form of logic controller. For example: your action A: 1. You need some form of sensor to detect cardboard flatpacks are ready to be loaded 2...

Have you ever connected dual element Thermocouple in parallel in the measurement loop for redundancy?
If you have critical processes, redundancy helps by having another resource to duplicate the first. Connecting 2 thermocouple in parallel is not dual redundant as your measuring amplifier becomes a single element. I've never connected or seen 2 thermocouple in parallel. I would imagine given...

Changing from 12v to 24v circuit
While Phil's point is fairly direct, it would help in us knowing why the change to 24V (assuming nominal battery voltage supply). In many cases it is more economical to run 12v systems through a 24/12v converter especially if 24v kit is not available. In doing that you would look at each device...

Capacitors in Old I&C drawings
It is unusual to de-energise a relay by diverting coil current through sensing device contacts. However we can only see a small part of the circuit to work out the reasoning behind it's original design. We can only guess that the supply is not DC as capacitors C51/61/71 provide AC coupling. If...

Top-down and bottom-up design strategies in PWC
First heard about 'Top Down' design around 30 years ago from a System Builder (that's what we called panel builders then) salesmen. Nice man, but what did it mean... whatever your client wanted it to be. For a System Builder, it was client specific requirements (later known as URS) layered down...

Closed loop stepper Reverse Torque question
Stepper motors are designed, as you have described, are for positional performance not torque related. Your expectations would be correct as if prevented from stepping on sequentially would trip out on error. It appears to me you would be looking for a simple brush DC motor capable of being...

Getting signal from Polar H10 heart rate monitor

What the problems with my system weighing ? Help me !
Can you tell us a little more about the type of load cell you are using; also how your vessel is mounted to be weighed. If I understand your point correctly - weighing is initially correct but suffers short term drift until the load is removed.

I couldn't recall yesterday software which is used in redundant configuration. It is called REDCONNECT - install if you have not done so already.

Satel 3AS Radio
If you cannot determine whether the radio link is live / stays live once connected, programme in a 'heatbeat' subroutine in the PLC with the SCADA echo back the signal. Similar to: https://control.com/forums/threads/how-to-know-modbus-slave-is-still-receiving-values.48833/#post-201785

Cpu414-H faults
You need to have a word with your local Siemens distributor who is there to help. However you need to load an 'F-copy license' into the CPU for hot standby configurations. https://www.lcautomation.com/wb_documents/siemens/siemens%20safety%20integrated%20-%20failsafe%20plcs.pdf

Modbus Organization Replaces Master-Slave with Client-Server
Modbus as a communication link protocol has come a long way from it's origins. When I started using it around 40 years ago it was a simple effective link for multiple devices, when every device/company had it's own protocol giving us hundreds of incompatible comms. links ! Perhaps the Modbus...

Assuming FACP stands for Fire Alarm Control Panel. Regardless, SIL2 does not necessarily mean redundancy. Perhaps you can give further detail as a panel in isolation has no rating.

How to know Modbus Slave is still receiving values
Use the 'heatbeat theory' It applies to any communication link - it's working but how do I know it's working ?! For modbus the master utilises a spare bit from a spare register, then pulses on/off at a frequency to suit the situation - say on 1sec / off 1sec for slow speed applications. This...

Potential clients for new panel shop
Firstly you need to make yourslves known, not to one set of clients - everyone. If you have no Website then it is probably a good idea to create one to set out 'your stall' in the marketplace. This should give an idea of what panels you have in mind. 25 yrs ago a medium sized company set up...
