Sensorless Flow Measurement with ACS880
If a Manual states it can measure flow as suggested, then I would expect it to state the principle of operation and what parameters are set to achieve it. The nearest I could imagine is when the drive is connected to a positive displacement water pump where generally flow is directly...

H2S Gas Detector
One would guess you could use both gas cylinders to compare results. However it would appear prudent to follow the Manufacturer's calibration procedures to ensure they are valid.

Writing an Address in Intouch Wonderware
In the early days of SCADA back in the 1980's, some operating systems worked on fixed registers/bits toconfigure screen actions. This quickly gave way to process descriptive Tags which are easier to comprehend. All the Intouch systems I've come across had tags which were process descriptive...

Communication with Arburg Selogica Injection Molding Controller
Siemens S5 3964R is a very old but standard protocol - there should be no problem in 2 devices communicating providing the serial parameters are identical. However unlike Modbus (protocol), a master does not request data. Messages are initiated from the device with the data, and the other end...

Tornado SGT200 Siemens
There is little on the 'net to find - you'll need to contact aftersales based in Lincoln UK: https://www.siemens.co.uk/en/about_us/index/manufacturing/industrial-turbomachinery.htm Expect a lot of questioning as there are many applications for the SGT200, and there are various control...

Possibile Tasks in Automaton and Control Where One Could Work Remotely from Home
You can do various sections provided you have the necessary information to continue. 1. Functional Description 2. Chapters for the Manual (Including Service Manual) 3. Offline Software such as configuration, tags, comments and logic. I recall writing software for a future project whilst...

PC to PLC Communications
Not familiar with the num 1060 PLC, but it appears the manual is available on the 'net. The Rockwell SLC5 series from new had to have the comm ports configured before you could do anything. The manual informed you to use serial communications with a specific set of parameters in order to...

VSD on Wound Rotor Motor
If a VFD is not seeing an inductive load then the o/p voltage and current will not necessarily be sinusoidal. The sparking rather confirms that. The start up resister is rather redundant and do not need to have any switchgear between VFD and motor. The exception to this is the local isolator.

Data Exchanges Between PLCs
Points you raise seem hypothetical: 1. Turn your point back to you - what type of data exchanges would you want. 2. When you refer to 3 PLCs, are you looking for dual redundant/2oo3 (2 out of 3) voting? Both are common for high reliability systems: what are trying to achieve? 3. You can...

MCT for Different Systems
It's unclear what the MCT is, but whether a tower or tunnel you appear to be questioning separation between two autonomous systems. A great deal depends on process and client requirements. Some will allow cables to run on the same traywork whilst others demand a significant minimum distance...

What output should I expect in this circuit?
"Is C1 parallel with C2?" They would appear to be in parallel. It's a bit of an odd circuit which suggests OP07 is not a straightforward amplifier and maybe not an op-amp to have clamping diodes connected directly to it's output. Are there any markings on OP07 to indicate what it is?

Diagnostic Coverage for SIS Solenoid Through Interposing Relay
We have all sorts of clever devices making integrity checks which come to nothing. "how will SIS know if solenoid has failed" Even if the relay was connected directly to the Himax, it would only check the solenoid electrically. Electrical failures on solenoids are rare, it is more likely to...

PLC Programming - Centrifugal Pump Operation
Treat the valve and pump as individual items. When an internal flag is set to open the valve, it opens. You have a check timer to make sure it does so in a reasonable time, otherwise you set a fault flag. Likewise for closing mindful the 'set to open' flag and fault flag are common to open...

Instrumentation Voltage Drop problem
You haven't mentioned power cable or sizing - so assume supply wiring to be 18 AWG. The specification for one instrument is 24vDC nominal 20vDC minimum. If you are sure you have less than 20vDC at the instrument there are several choices: 1. Raise the 24vDC supply until you have 24vDC at...

Actuator MAST
Having now understood MAST (Maximum allowable stem shear torque), it would seem a bad idea to have the Actuator MAST exceeding the Valve MAST as you could end up with a damaged valve. Can you explain what calculations you are making? If these are spring return, are they fail safe closed or...

Can an Oil Truck Tank Level Sensor Measure Acid Level
