GE Toolbox 8.1
Demigrog, To quote: >Toolbox 8.1 is fine on Windows XP. >..., but if >you're stuck on Toolbox 8.1 you're >limited to older OSes. Can you clarify this, please? Will Toolbox 8.1 work on WinXP, or not? Thanks!

Mark V TCI software reseller
TCI and CIMBRIDGE are GE proprietary applications, which are provided on HMIs used with GE Mark V, Mark VI, and early Mark VIe Speedtronic turbine control systems. I'm not aware of any authorized sellers of TCI/CIMBRIDGE, or that GE would sell "stand-alone" copies (that is, ones not installed on...

Atomizing Air Temperature Control not steady
I'm presuming the fans are being controlled by the Mark VI,, which isn't a big stretch, but never having seen a configuration like you're describing it could be an entirely self-contained "skid" with its own controller. If you can determine the fans are controlled by the Mark VI you need to...

What part of CMPRSR (COMPRESSOR) LIM (LIMIT) ... CTL (CONTROL) ACTIVE isn't clear? Some compressor operating limit as been exceeded, or the inputs to the compressor operating limit function aren't working properly. It's likely the compressor operating limit function is preventing L70R from...

Atomizing Air Temperature Control not steady
Okay, the problem has persisted for some time and the supplier was allowed to leave without correcting the problem. Which follows, since all the questions were not answered. They were: >If the cooler uses VFDs, what are they >doing? Are they increasing and >decreasing speed rapidly? >...

It seems from other posts you have solved this problem. Can you please tell us what was found and how the issue was resolved? Thanks!

Atomizing Air Temperature Control not steady
Please, you have a Frame <b>5</b> and a Mark VI. When did this problem start? After a maintenance outage? Or has it persisted since commissioning or some other event? I have never seen an atomizing air cooler that doesn't use water, but, I haven't seen everything. If the cooler uses...

Servo calibration message.
You have not provided sufficient information to tell us why the unit might have tripped. From the information provided, it would appear that one of the servo coils has the wrong polarity of applied current, and the other two coils are trying to compensate. I'm not familiar with the alarm...

Thanks very much for the feedback! Can you tell us precisely which PROMs were bad? Not the PROM numbers, but the DS200 numbers on the labels.

What Process Alarms are being annunciated? (All of them, please.) Something is blocking L70R from raising TNR.

Phil Corso is right. If the MW transducer input is reversed, then when the unit is trying to increase load (which it will generally try to do on initial synchronization attempt, to what's called "spinning reserve" setpoint) as the load is increasing the feedback will go in the opposite...

alarms
You have a Frame 5 and a Mark <b>VI</b>. There's too little information here to be able to say for certain why the unit tripped. We would need to be able to see all of the alarms, Process and Diagnostic, that were existing before the event and after the event. We would also need to know what...

Capturing MK5 IDOS screens
The utility/executable is called IMAGE_PC.EXE, and it should be in the G:\EXEC directory. If the unit is a 2000 vintage machine, it should be there, because it started shipping on <I>s in the early 1990's. If you type <pre>IMAGE_PC /?</pre> at the command prompt of the F:\SPOOL directory, you...

Mark V governor variables (droop, gain) and I/O
A lot of smaller, so-called "industrial" steam turbines were not designed nor were they applied in frequency control applications. The idea is that when they are connected to a grid in parallel with other machines that the frequency is governed by the grid. So, instead of a turbine speed...

Alarm Printer
There's one more important piece of information that I just remembered; sorry. (It's been a long time since I've configured a printer, because they are usually pre-configured by the vendor who supplies them to GE as it's part of the ordering drawing/specification. This was because there was so...

Mark V governor variables (droop, gain) and I/O
Thanks for the feedback, though it would have been nice to have the signal name since it's likely different for the steam turbine than for the gas turbine(s). I don't have any steam turbine Mark V software and since it can be different depending on the application anyway, it would have likely...
