That leads to the question... should we try to make our list multi-lingual?

There are services around that provide free machine translation, and we could probably hook one up to our lists. I'm not sure if that's a good
idea, though --- on the one hand, it'd greatly expand our potential developer- and user-base. On the other hand, machine translation is liable to lead to some hillarious misunderstandings (to say the least).

What do you think?

Maybe something for alt.fan.monty-python? Reminds me of their sketch about the man who wrote a dictionary Hungarian/English, with some, ahem,
unofficial and undecent translations :)

Yeah... for one thing, it seems their software cuts off the last letter of each line before translation, which would make it a lot worse. That can be fixed, though, one way or another.

Still, I suspect there's a lot of people that understand broken German better than even the best English... and vice versa of course...

Hello,

with a bit of coaxing, t-mail can do quite a bit better...

Es gibt Dienstleistungen um dieses liefern freie maschinelle Übersetzung, und wir könnten ein bis zu unseren Listen vermutlich anspannen. Ich bin

Andererseits ist maschinelle Übersetzung verantwortlich, zu einige hillarious Mißverständnisse zu führen (die wenigen sagen).

Jiri,

For translating emails which are mostly spoken english, automatic translation is for sure more difficult. However, for written text, with its grammar not too complicated, the sentences not too long, i think its worth trying. Trying on more text, doc. Technical literature is usually not too literature like.
