IEC 870-5 protocol

No, not that I know of - unless it has another name.

(And I should know of it, seeing as I maintain the Maintainers file. Did you want to work on it?)

Thanks for getting back so promptly, Jiri!

IEC 60870-5-xxx.

Not now. I'm working on establishing a "state of SCADA" baseline. We'll see after I'm done with this.

It's a telecontrol communications protocol. Stations using the protocol may be interconnected
to monitor and control a system. It's designed to be used where the stations are widely
distributed. Examples are electric power grids, and municipal water and waste water systems.

Nope, that neither.

http://www.linuxplc.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/~checkout~/doc/Maintainers(I should have posted that last time.)

OK. Check the Linux Lab Project, too - they have some stuff, mainly for data acquisition, and we haven't yet got around to connecting their
architecture to ours...
