USS protocol and how to control siemens drive

i have inquiry below :
Q1) is it correct that USS protocol = modbus ASCII?

Q2) did micromaster440/420 have to do any pre-command to control drive frequency or else compare to schneider inverter there are "drive com"?

Q3) if Q2 answer is Yes, MM440 have those pre control , please kindly send me a link to those information or if you could guideline me is marvelous.

sorry this is the first time for me to post inquiry, so i'm not sure how does it look before posting this inquiry.

I' would like to say thank you in advance for your kindly help and suggest.

For Q1) here is a link that will allow you to download a description of the USS protocol; I don't believe ist is related to modbus, but maybe you can find out differently:

For the rest of your questions, I suggest you go to Siemens' website (the preceding link is a good place to start) and look for litterature on the MM440. There you should have at least some answers.

USS is a telegram based protocol, communication is easy using the S7-200 USS library. Which PLC are you using to control the Drives?
