Oriental Motor Rolls Out 750 W Brushless Motors and Gear Motors
Oriental Motor’s new 750 W (1 hp) brushless DC motors and gear motors pair IE5 efficiency with compact construction and VFD compatibility for advanced industrial motion control.
Industrial operators are being asked to do more with less: less energy, less space, and fewer maintenance hours. It’s a tough equation, especially when many systems still rely on bulky IE3 AC induction motors. Those older designs are proven workhorses, but they carry extra weight, generate more heat, and draw more power than the latest brushless alternatives. For engineers looking to integrate precision motion control with inverters or variable frequency drives (VFDs), finding a motor that checks all the boxes for efficiency, size, and reliability can be a challenge.
This is the gap Oriental Motor USA is looking to close with its new 750 W (1 hp) brushless DC motor and gear motor line. These IE5-class motors are compatible with inverters and VFDs and promise a high efficiency, low energy draw, and small footprint, all without sacrificing output or durability. For OEMs, this means designs can run cooler, lighter, and more cost-effectively than conventional induction motors.

750 W (1 hp) Brushless and Gear Motors
Oriental Motor’s new 750 W (1 hp) brushless motors and gear motors are built to be compatible with major inverter and VFD brands such as ABB, Fuji, Inovance, Lenze, Mitsubishi, Rockwell, Siemens, and Toshiba. This compatibility gives integrators the flexibility to work within existing control architectures. The motor’s IE5 rating translates directly into reduced heat loss and higher torque per watt, which can make a real difference in applications where thermal management and power budgets are tight.
The motor lineup isn’t one-size-fits-all. Options include round shaft motors, pinion shaft motors, and versions coupled to either parallel shaft or hollow shaft flat gearheads. This variety allows for precise matching to mechanical loads, helping reduce drivetrain complexity and improve overall efficiency. The motor’s forward-facing cable arrangement makes routing easier in cramped panels, while an optional dedicated motor-to-VFD cable (model CC005BYFF) offers secure power and signal delivery.

Faster Performance Verification
Commissioning new equipment can cause a bottleneck, especially if performance testing has to be repeated in multiple stages. With Oriental Motor’s new motors, engineers can measure operating ranges from 30 MHz to 1 GHz in a single pass, rather than the traditional three-step process often required with certain motor-VFD pairings.
That single-step approach trims integration time and reduces the risk of mismatched control parameters. It also improves the process of switching between different VFD brands or models, a major plus for OEMs serving diverse customer requirements. Less trial-and-error means faster deployment and more predictable results in the field.

High-Efficiency Motion Control
Energy efficiency regulations are tightening worldwide, with IE4 and IE5 requirements becoming the norm in many markets. By delivering IE5 performance out of the box, these motors give manufacturers a head start on compliance with no expensive redesigns required. For companies exporting globally, using a single motor platform that already meets top-tier efficiency standards simplifies logistics and reduces the number of product variants to manage.
Brushless designs also bring inherent maintenance advantages. With no brushes or commutators to wear out, service intervals stretch longer, downtime drops, and total cost of ownership improves. Those savings compound over time, particularly in high-duty applications.
Motor Performance and Efficiency
Balancing output, efficiency, and size has always been a tightrope act in industrial motion control. Oriental Motor’s new 750 W brushless motors and gear motors range offers a straightforward way to tip that balance in favor of performance and efficiency. With broad VFD compatibility, multiple configurations, and an IE5 rating, engineers have the flexibility to design systems that are compact, energy-conscious, and built for the regulatory landscape ahead.
