Coriolis mass flow meters liquids gas inaccurate reading

Hi Gets

When using Coriolis mass flow meters to measure liquids flow oil with entrained GAS from the well productions , the meter reports inaccurate readings. Entrained Gas gives inaccurate reading comparing to metering system, as the entrained maybe absorbs some of the energy. The energy is limited by intrinsic safety requirements and therefore cannot be increased.

Any advise are welcome

Coriolis meters have historically suffered when gas percentage is high. However there has been some development from Krohne on this. I saw them demonstrating a coriolis at a show where they were blasting air through. In my own use of coriolis meter, I have unfortunately not had much luck and most have stopped giving reliable data with quite low percentage of gas.

here is a video from emerson on it: https://videos.emerson.com/detail/v...-multiple-phases-in-coriolis-flow-measurement

this paper (also from micromotion) has detailed analysis on the issues involved: https://www.aade.org/download_file/force/4728/649

So, if you have gas, look elsewhere for anything but the low gas percentage.
There are some other meters that are showing better performance.
