Binder has expanded its M8 connector portfolio with compact, fully shielded cable connectors designed to protect signal integrity in dense and EMI-heavy automation environments. The new 360-degree shielded male and female models bring proven shielding concepts from Binder’s data connectors to the signal level, supporting clean communication for sensors, actuators, and measurement devices. Built to IP67 standards with multiple pin configurations, they offer durability and flexibility for robotics, machine building, and precision equipment.

Compact Design for Tight Spaces

The new M8 connectors fit well in places where space is tight, like robotics, machine building, or test and measurement setups. Because of their small size, engineers can add more sensors and actuators without worrying about reliability. They come in 3-, 4-, 5-, 6-, and 8-pin versions, with custom cable lengths available, and they follow IEC 61076-2-104 standards for full M8 compatibility. Binder gave the 360-degree shielded M8 female connector a flatter grip, helping stop dust and debris from building up. The update makes it well-suited for areas that need to stay clean and easy to service, such as food processing, laboratories, and pharmaceutical plants.

Proven Shielding Concept

The shielding design used in the new connectors is derived from Binder’s M8 D-coded data connector series, which has been proven in the field for years. This approach provides complete 360° shielding continuity, minimizing EMI across the entire connection. The result is a consistently low noise floor for analog and digital signals, even when multiple devices operate in close proximity.

“The redesigned 360° shielded M8 male and female cable connectors bring our best shielding concept to the signal level,” says Mr. Werner, Product Manager at Binder. “These versions carry forward the reliability and performance of our data connectors and extend them to signal transmission, which will play an even more critical role in future automation systems.”

Durability for Demanding Environments

Built to IP67 protection standards, the new M8 connectors resist water ingress, dust exposure, and continuous vibration. They can handle temperatures from –25°C up to +85°C, with a current of 4 A and a voltage of 60 V DC. That range makes them a fit for most machine and process automation setups. Engineers can pick from several flange, socket, and plug styles to drop into existing systems without needing major changes.

With the addition of these 360° shielded models, Binder strengthens its M8 family as a go-to connection solution for compact, interference-free signal transmission. With their tough build, reliable shielding, and flexible setup options, the new M8 connectors work well in automation, robotics, and precision measurement gear where dependable signals really matter.
