Flanged and Versatile: Binder Releases the PBC15 Connector System
Binder has enhanced its connector system portfolio by introducing flange components designed for the PBC15 (615 series) cable connectors, tailored for high current and voltage applications.
Binder USA has launched the PBC15 flanged power and signal connectors as part of their 615 series connector family. While circular connectors have been known as the backbone of electrical connections in many industries, these flanged components enable rapid locking and dependable connections to ensure secure power and signal transmission for the PBC15 cable connectors, facilitating power and signal provision for three-phase and asynchronous motors.

Securing Your Connections With the 615 Series Power Connectors.
The PBC15 flanged cable connectors provide an excellent solution for delivering power to motors or for transmitting and receiving signals. The PBC15 series consists of 12 different models, all designed in accordance with the DIN EN IEC 61076-2-116 standard that allows these components cross-manufacturer compatibility. These connectors feature IP66/IP67 industrial protection, which means they are well-suited for use in harsh environments as they are effectively sealed from both liquids and dust.

The PBC15 power connectors offer a range of 12 different models, all equipped with six contacts. These connectors feature three power contacts capable of transmitting power at up to 630V and 16A, a protective earth wire, and two signal transmission contacts capable of handling up to 63V and 10A. Users have the flexibility to choose between male or female bayonet connectors and can select from various options, including screw clamp field wireable connectors (7.0 to 14.0mm), screw clamp terminals for cable connectors, or prewired shielded or unshielded single-wired pigtails up to 250 mm in length for panel mount connections.
The flange components come in an unshielded plastic or shielded version with metal components. They are available as flange plugs and flange sockets with a locking mechanism. These components can achieve quick locking with a simple quarter turn. For direct panel mounting, the PBC15 series features an M20 x 1.5 mm mounting thread, giving machine builders the flexibility to mount the connector in a customer-specific housing, in a particular device, or even in the motor housing using an off-the-shelf locknut.
Within the controls and automation industry, we always look at ways to reduce cabinet size, eliminate wiring, and remove unnecessary components. With the PBC15 connector system from Binder, integrators can now achieve these wants, and this connector is a perfect solution for a variety of different applications in manufacturing environments, such as supplying power for three-phase motors or frequency inverters used in a variety of automated applications and industrial machines, such as packaging machines in the automotive industry.
